On the afternoon of March 9, the first International Young Scholars Xiangtao Forum of Wuhan University of Science and Technology was held in the lecture hall on the 5th floor of the second floor. The sub-forum was presided over by Vice Dean He Li, and attended by seven young talents who studied and worked in the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, New Zealand and other countries, members of the leadership team of the college, leaders of various departments and faculty representatives.
After watching the promotional video of the college, Dean Ding Yiming delivered a speech. He introduced the history of the construction of the college, the majors offered, the faculty, the teaching achievements, the training of students, and the recent situation of international exchanges and cooperation, and extended a warm welcome to the arrival of all international young scholars.
The young international scholars took the stage in turn to conduct academic exchanges. Han Mengjie shared his research experience in optimization, machine learning and statistical learning. Zhou Xin introduced an NFC measurement method that is more accurate than traditional methods; Zhao Tianxiao explained the new method of confirming strong regular graphs in algebraic graph theory and its potential applications in informatics, statistics, probability theory and physics. Zhang Ming pointed out the guiding role of biological soft tissue mechanics to doctors; Tianyu Chen introduced his research results in structural dynamics, vibration and wave propagation. Zhang Ping talked about his research findings in astrophysics, X-ray, radio, etc.; Shi Wenhui introduced the research progress in the development of new catalysts and the utilization of hydrogen energy.
Finally, the teachers of the college exchanged and discussed professional issues with the young scholars, accompanied the young scholars to visit the history museum and exhibition room, and took a group photo.
