On April 12, the School of Science of our university invited Fan Aihua, a distinguished professor of Picardie University in France and a distinguished professor of Wuhan University, to give a speech entitled "Fourier and Fourier Analysis - The Only Purpose of Science is the Glory of the Human Spirit?" at 22201. Professor Fan Aihua started with a brief biography of Fourier and interpreted the development of Fourier's analysis from a historical perspective. He said that, in addition to Fourier himself, the merits of Fourier analysis research in the 19th century were attributed to three German scholars, Dirichlet, Riemann and Cantor, and the rebirth of Fourier analysis in the 20th century was due to the integral theory of the French scholar Lebesgue.
Professor Fan Aihua gave a detailed introduction to Fourier's Fourier analysis: the analytical theory of heat. He analyzed the classical theory of Fourier analysis from five aspects: "Dirichlet's theorem: the convergence of Fourier series, a model of analysis", "Riemann's theory: functions represented by trigonometric series", "Cantor uniqueness: the origin of set theory and topology", "Fejer's theorem: turning point", and "Lebesgue: measurement theory and integral theory".
The atmosphere of the lecture was warm, and the teachers and students were immersed in Professor Fan Aihua's in-depth explanation. During the interactive session, Professor Fan Aihua patiently answered questions from teachers and students about the details and cutting-edge applications of Fourier analysis theory, and encouraged everyone to cultivate respect and practice the spirit of science while mastering mathematical tools.
