On April 13, 2024, Hubei Provincial Intelligent Blasting Engineering Technology Research Center held a construction seminar in Xinzhou District, Wuhan City. The meeting was attended by 19 well-known experts in the industry from Henan Polytechnic University, China Coal Science and Industry Group, Wuhan University of Technology, Liaoning Blasting Association, Beijing Institute of Technology, Southwest Jiaotong University, China Railway 23rd Bureau (Hubei) Blasting Company, Wuhan Blasting Co., Ltd., China Railway Fourth Institute Group and other units, as well as relevant leaders of Hubei Provincial Public Security Department and Wuhan Municipal Public Security Bureau. The meeting was presided over by Professor Zhong Dongwang, director of Hubei Intelligent Blasting Engineering Technology Research Center.
Professor Zhong Dongwang welcomed the experts and guests who participated in the conference and expressed his heartfelt thanks to them for their long-term support and help to the center. Subsequently, Professor Li Linna, deputy director of the center, introduced the basic situation of the center from the aspects of the center's overall positioning and research direction, infrastructure and research results, operation and management mechanism, and reported to the expert group on the development of teaching and scientific research and the achievements of industry-university-research cooperation in terms of scientific research projects, achievements and awards, talent training, and school-enterprise cooperation. After listening carefully to the report on the construction of the center, the expert group affirmed the significance of the construction of the center to promote the development of the engineering blasting industry and the positive role of talent training, scientific research and transformation of scientific and technological achievements in related fields.
Yang Xiaolin, President of Henan Polytechnic University, pointed out that the intelligent blasting center relies on the School of Science and has more advantages in the development of blasting technology. At the same time, it is pointed out that blasting safety protection is the top priority, in line with the needs of the country, in order to apply intelligence to anti-explosion research and civil blasting emergency protection, intelligence is not only technology, but also direction, the foothold of the intelligent direction should be selected, for example, anti-explosion research is not only the study of materials, but also for specific engineering practice, from the aspects of anti-explosion structure, materials and engineering.
Leaders of provincial and municipal public security departments pointed out that it is necessary to "adhere to principles, emancipate the mind, and strengthen safety", use intelligent, advanced, and information-based means to eliminate hidden dangers in engineering blasting, effectively combine safety management with intelligent technology, and use new blasting technology to solve public safety problems.
