On April 21, the final results of the 15th National Mathematics Competition for College Students were announced. Our students won one national first prize and two second prizes in the non-mathematics professional group, and our school was awarded the second prize of excellent university organization, winning the highest prize in the competition for two consecutive years!
The National Mathematics Competition for College Students is a national high-level discipline competition for undergraduate students sponsored by the Chinese Mathematical Society. The competition has been held for 15 consecutive sessions, with a total of 1.5 million participants up to now, and has become one of the most influential discipline competitions in China. This competition has a total of 32 divisions, participating in 1,108 universities, 288,355 applicants, a total of more than 1,100 finalists to participate in the final competition.
The final of the competition was held at Shandong University. After the preliminary selection, Tong Kun, Li Mingjie and Zhao Zhiyin of the non-mathematics professional group of our school stood out and participated in the final on behalf of our school. In the end, Zhao Zhiyin won the national first prize, Tong Kun and Li Mingjie won the national second prize, achieving another breakthrough in this competition in our school.
The achievement of this excellent result shows the phased effect of our school's talent training and high-quality development. Our school has always attached great importance to the organization and guidance of the national mathematics competition for college students, adhering to the principle of "promoting practice through competition, promoting learning through competition, and combining learning with competition", stimulating students' interest in independent mathematics learning, and giving all-round support to participating students. The School of Science and the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship make overall planning, cooperate with the strength of all colleges, strengthen the publicity of the event, and actively mobilize the teachers and students of the whole school to sign up for it. In order to help students prepare for the competition, the School of Science actively prepared and carefully organized, and created an experienced math competition guidance team to conduct special training and answer questions for students every week.
