In order to enhance the awareness of fire safety and help teachers and students master the basic evacuation skills, on May 23, the school held a fire safety lecture in Chongshi Hall and conference room 22614, and carried out a demonstration of fire equipment and evacuation drill. The lecture was lectured by Zhu Pengyuan, instructor of Wuhan Limin Fire Center, attended by nearly 300 teachers and students of our college.
Zhu Pengyuan showed the ruthlessness of fire to teachers and students with living fire cases. "Are fires natural or man-made? In many cases, man-made disasters are responsible, so we need to raise awareness of fire prevention and eliminate potential hazards. He said that many small details may lead to the occurrence of fire, our laboratories, studios, dormitories, etc., to do "people walk off the power", the last person to leave to check the laboratory equipment, water and electricity and other conditions to ensure safety; To buy the new national standard plugboard, the use of 3-5 years to replace once, with 10 years must be replaced, usually in time to clean the dust and hair on the plugboard.
Zhu Pengyuan introduced the functions and use of many fire fighting facilities to improve teachers and students' resilience in the face of fire. "When using a fire extinguisher, check the pressure gauge first, then pull the safety, shake the handle with one hand, grasp the water pipe with the other hand, and aim the fire at the root of the flame." He explained how to use a fire extinguisher. He also suggested that the home with a set of fire equipment, such as in the bedroom, living room, balcony are installed smoke alarm, can know the fire the first time.
How to escape a fire? "Most of the victims of the fire were choked alive by the smoke." Zhu Pengyuan said that the first thing to avoid breathing toxic fumes, gas masks are more effective than wet towels, can greatly increase the survival time. He provided teachers and students with a good way to escape a fire in the corridor: you can judge the size of the fire by the temperature of the door handle, so as to quickly escape or wait for rescue.
After the lecture, the staff of the school security Department led the teachers and students of the college to carry out a fire evacuation drill. The staff placed smoke bombs in the corridor in advance to simulate the fire scene, and the teachers and students leaned over and covered their noses to evacuate from the stairs in an orderly manner, and soon reached the open space on the first floor. Zhu Pengyuan praised the quick and orderly escape behavior of the teachers and students.
