WUST Online News (by Correspondent Zhang Di and Bi Haoyang) On the morning of July 3rd, a delegation with Miguel, Vice President of Complutense University in Madrid, Spain, came to College of Science for exchange and visit. The personnel accompanying the visit include Principal Ni Hongwei, Vice Principal Lv Yong, leaders of relevant functional departments of WUST, the leadership team members of Science School and representatives of teachers from 3 departments.
In the Department of Systems Science, the Director and Professor Tu Lilan, led the delegation from Complutense University of Madrid to visit the History Museum of Science College and introduced the development history of Science College.
The representative of Complutense University of Madrid wrote a message on the message board of the History Museum, saying 'The friendship between two universities will last forever, and there will be more cooperation and exchanges'.
Subsequently, Professor Tu Lilan led the delegation to visit the exhibition room of the Hubei Provincial Key Laboratory of Metallurgical Industry Process Systems Science, and told them about the achievements and future development directions of our university's systems science discipline.
In the Department of Applied Physics, Professor Li Hanlin, Secretary of the Party Branch, led the delegation to visit the laboratory and systematically introduced the use of high-precision measuring equipment and advanced experimental devices in the college.
In the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Associate Professor Gong Yicheng introduced to the delegation two majors, Information Computing Science and Applied Statistics, which correspond to the major of Data Science and Applied Statistics jointly offered by our university and the University of Madrid in Spain. Subsequently, representatives from our University accompanied the visiting delegation to visit the mathematical modeling and simulation laboratory.
During the visit, both sides had a lively discussion on international research hotspots, teaching reform directions, and interdisciplinary integration. This exchange activity deepened the connection between our college and Complutense University of Madrid, laying a solid foundation for the cooperation between the two universities in academic exchange and talent cultivation.
