On May 16th, our school held a discussion on the revision of postgraduate training programs in the 22614 conference room. Members of the academic degree committee, including He Li, the deputy head of our school, Wang Yuhua, the deputy head of our school, Zhang Chuanzhou, the deputy head of our school, Liu Yunbing, the director of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Li Yu, the director of the Department of Applied Physics, and Cai Lujun, the director of the Department of Engineering Mechanics, attended the meeting, which was presided over by He Li.
First, Deputy Dean He Li emphasized the importance of revising the postgraduate training program. He said that the revision of the postgraduate training program should be closely integrated with the needs of the times and society. By carrying out timely revisions, adjusting core curriculum settings, refining academic research directions, and allocating teaching staff, it can more effectively integrate and optimize educational resources, and improve the quality and effectiveness of postgraduate training.
He Xiaoxia, the deputy director of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Wang Dengjing, the deputy director of the Department of Applied Physics, and Zeng Guowei, the deputy director of the Department of Engineering Mechanics, respectively reported on the revision of the postgraduate training programs for academic degrees in mathematics, statistics, physics, and mechanics from four aspects: the basic conditions of the latest master's degree authorization points, expert evaluation suggestions, refinement of academic research directions, and planning for key curriculum construction.
After the reports, the participating teachers had intense discussions around the update of postgraduate training objectives, optimization of academic research directions, addition of core courses, and planning for curriculum construction for each degree program.
Teachers agreed that the newly revised training program should fully reflect the important ideas of postgraduate education reform in the new era. The curriculum should be more in line with the development trends of the discipline and social needs, focusing on cultivating students' comprehensive quality and innovative abilities. Implement the fundamental task of cultivating morality and fostering talents, with improving the quality of postgraduate education as the core, to promote the comprehensive development of postgraduate students in morality, intelligence, physique, aesthetics, and labor, and enhance the ability of postgraduate education to support and lead economic and social development.
